Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Strategies
Coming out of CBT, ERP is a way for someone to confront difficult thoughts, images, objects and situations that evoke anxiety and/or provoking obsessions using a variety of exercises individualized to the person’s symptoms and experiences. The idea is to expose yourself to these thoughts or visual objects etc. while engaging in coping strategies work through and reframe these thoughts so that these threats and obsessions do not continue to control you.
Using behavioral strategies from the ComB, work with a BCBA to make lasting change in managing and living with Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) and Trichotillomania by learning more about who you are, what works, and becoming the version of yourself you strive to be.
